Founded in 1974, by Tom Adlam (II) together with his father Tom Adlam (I) and his brother Conrad Adlam, Adlam Engineering began in a small workshop in Pomona (a suburb of Kempton Park) that they rented with only one employee. In 1978 the partnership converted to a Proprietary Limited Company. Their brother, Rudie Adlam also joined them during that year, making it a true family business. They soon became well known for their superior quality of manufacturing. Due to continuous growth they moved to a new premises in Boksburg East in 2009 covering a workspace of more than 12,000 square meters, including the gear cutting division.
Adlam Engineering is a manufacturer of new and refurbished Industrial Gear Drive solutions for various machine types and operations. They are a refurbisher of industrial equipment, that provides engineering solutions, design and manufacturing of alternative or original replacement parts for the surface and underground mining sector. As a company, we manufacture a wide range of gear drive solutions and components. Our process capability consists of milling, turning, gear cutting, gear grinding and fabrication.
